St. Thomas ran its shutout streak to eight contests dating back to the 2019 postseason

Senior Lexi Serreyn scored the game's first goal in the 28th minute and freshman Lexi Huber connected in the 63rd minute to lead St. Thomas Women's Soccer to Sunday's 2-0 road win at Chicago State. It was the university's first Division I victory of the young fall season.
St. Thomas (1-0-1) recorded a 9-0 advantage in shots on goal and 5-3 edge in corner kicks. Huber and fellow freshman Abby Brantner recorded assists. Sophomore Olivia Graupmann played all 90 minutes as keeper.
Coach Sheila McGill was able to use 24 players in the victory and record the program's eighth consecutive shutout. The Tommie extended their three-season unbeaten streak to 29 matches (23-0-6), including 19 shutouts over that run. They have not allowed a goal in 783 minutes on the clock dating back to the 2019 NCAA D-III playoffs.
The Purple are scheduled to play three games in a six-day span starting with Thursday's 5 p.m. game at UW-Green Bay; next Sunday's 1 p.m. game at Drake; and a Sept. 7 home game against Wyoming.
