Senior pitcher Graham Laubscher was selected as a second-team All-America by D3Baseball.com after leading St. Thomas to a conference championship and into this week's eight-team College World Series finals.
Laubscher was voted conference Pitcher of the Year earlier this season and All-Region by the American Baseball Coaches; Association (ABCA) and D3Baseball.com. With the MIAC title at stake, he worked eight innings on May 9 to beat Concordia-Moorhead and let the Toms claim the championship by percentage points over Gustavus.
He's 8-0 with a 1.94 ERA in April and May games with 89 strikeouts and 18 walks over 65 innings. Overall in 2021 Laubscher is 8-2 with a 2.11 ERA and a 5-to-1 K-to-walk ratio.
In 35 career appearances the Stillwater, Minn, native has surpassed 225 strikeouts in 179 innings.
Laubscher is the Tommies' first baseball All-American since Tyler Peterson in 2014, and their first pitching All-America honoree since Dylan Thomas in 2013.
Tommie Baseball was represented by two other players on the All-Region teams announced Tuesday by the ABCA and D3Baseball.com.
