Women's Hoops falls in close game at St. Ben's

St. Thomas Women's Basketball played uphill all game and dropped its first game of the season with an 88-83 loss Wednesday night in MIAC play at St. Ben's.
The Tommies (3-1 overall, 2-1 MIAC) were outscored 21-9 at the free-throw line as the Bennies converted 21-of-27 while the Toms made only 9-of-18.
Senior Kaia Porter sank six treys and finished with a season-high 20 points. Macy Hatlestad scored 13 points and freshman Katelyn Stanley finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.
St. Ben's (3-2, 2-2) had all five starters score in double figures.
St. Thomas returns home Saturday to play Augsburg (2 p.m.).
