Comeback nets tie for Men's Hockey on the road

Johnny Panvica's power-play goal early in period three tied the score and Tommie Men's Hockey skated to a 3-3 tie at Gustavus on Saturday night in MIAC play in St. Peter.
Neither team scored in the 5:00 overtime, or again in the 5:00 3-on-3 tie-breaker. The Gusties (8-6-3 overall, 4-2-2 MIAC) won the second tie-break, a shootout, and claimed five points on the weekend.
St. Thomas (8-7-3, 5-4-1) took only one point despite being outscored just 6-5 on the two-game series. The Toms never led in either game.
The Purple managed just 13 shots on goal over 65:00 on the clock on Saturday. Henry Baribeau played the final 44:00 in goal and allowed just one goal. Justin Kelley and Panvica scored the firt two St. Thomas goals. Panvica has scored five goals in the last three games.
St. Thomas is off competition next weekend and plays St. John's in games Feb. 6-7.
