2/10/2018 12:00:00 AM | Men's Hockey
Host St. John's scored twice in a 46-second span in the final six minutes and added a late empty-goal to score a 4-1 win over first-place and No. 13-ranked St. Thomas in MIAC men's hockey play in St. Cloud. The teams play again Saturday at 7 p.m. in Mendota Heights.
The Tommies (14-7-1 overall, 9-3-1 MIAC), who were outshot 37-20, had a seven-game win streak halted. Benjamin Myers stopped 33 of 36 shots for UST.
UST had won five consecutive road games.
St. Thomas freshman Frankie Spellman scored his first college goal late in period one. But St. Thomas would lead for just 1:21 on the night as the Johnnies soon tied the game.
