Men, Women sweep Northfield foes in pool

St. Thomas Swim-Dive used depth to pull away from St. Olaf in men's and women's dual meets Saturday at Anderson Pool. The men won 166-126, and the women won 194.5-119.5.
The Tommie men won eight events:
- Bailey Biwer had a hand in three wins, including a sweep of the 50 and 100 free races and a leg on the first-place 400 free relay with Mikey Sofelt, Tom Negaard and Luke Schneeman;
- Andrew Grabowski swept the one- and three-meter diving events;
- Brady Anderson won the 200 fly;
- Omar Omar won the 100 fly;
- Max Larson won the 200 IM;
The St. Thomas women won nine events:
- Emma Paulson won two individual races (50 and 100 free) and swam on two winning relays;
- Kate Smarjesse swept the 100 and 200 back races;
- Nicole Herrli won the 100 and 200 Breaststrokes and had a leg on the winning medley relay;
- Katelyn Strauss won the 100 fly and had a leg on the first-place freestyle relay;
- Kirsten Nelson and Haley Cassens joined Herrli and Paulson on the medley relay;
- Alex Howard and Tiana Molitor also swm on the free relay.
Friday story
St. Thomas Swim-Dive won men's and women's dual meets Friday night over visiting Carleton at Anderson Pool. The men won 211-78, and the women won 182-116.
The Tommies will host a dual meet Saturday against St. Olaf at 1 p.m. at Anderson Pool.
For the UST women, there were 11 wins:
- Emma Paulson swept the 200 free and 200 back and joined Tiana Molitor, Liz Falconer and Haley Cassens on the winning 200 medley;
- Nicole Herrli swept the 200 breaststroke and 200 IM;
- Kirsten Nelson won the 100 Breaststroke and 100 fly;
- Falconer won the 100 breaststroke;
- Katelyn Strauss took the 200 fly;
- Mira Schroeder placed first in the 500 free;
- Kellie Pruitt won three-meter diving.
The UST men won 14 events:
- Warren Melton won the 200 and 500 freestyles;
- Bailey Biwer swept the 100 back and 100 free and joined Matthew Kearney, Eric Schuld and Luke Schneeman on the winning medley relay;
- Andrew Grabowski won both one- and three-meter diving;
- Schuld won the 100 breaststroke and Alexander Robb won the 200 breast;
- Tom Negaard won the 200 back;
- Hunter Neilssen won the 100 fly, Brady Anderson won the 200 fly;
- Schneeman won the 50 free;
- Max Larson won the 200 IM.
