Men's Tennis tops Mac in playoff opener

The Tommie men's tennis team swept the three doubles matches en route to a 5-2 win over Macalester in Friday's MIAC first-round match in St. Peter.

St. Thomas (11-5) advances to Saturday's 11:30 a.m. semifinal match vs. second-seed Carleton.

UST's Brendan O'Connell Allen-Michael Muench pulled out close wins at Nos. 3-5 singles. Henry Mandell and Mitch Blakely held slight leads in their singles matches when the match was clinched.
