Volleyball closes 4-0 in Iowa; win streak to 11

The No. 12-ranked Tommie volleyball team (24-3) ran its win streak to 11 with Saturday's 3-0 wins over Nebraska Wesleyan and Simpson.
That let St. Thomas come home as the lone 4-0 finisher on the weekend at the Simpson (Iowa) Tournament. Coach Thanh Pham's team hit .316 on the weekend.
UST's Kaitlain Wachter, Ashley Maher and Jill Greenfield were chosen to the All-Tournament team.
In the 25-20, 25-13, 25-17 win over Wesleyan, Jill Greenfield had 10 kills and 14 digs; Ashley Mahe has 32 assists and 10 digs; Kaitlain Wachter had 20 digs; Kelly Foley had nine kills and five blocks; and Paige Brimeyer had nine kills and hit .571.
In the 25-12, 25-16, 25-17 defeat of Simpson, Foley had 19 kills and two solo blocks; Greenfield had nine kills and 15 digs; Maher had 37 assists; and Wachter had 19 dgs.
The Tommies return home next Friday night to face St. Mary's.
