Volleyball win streak hits 12; tied for MIAC lead

Katie Bonine had 13 kills and 17 digs to lead No. 14-ranked St. Thomas to a 3-0 volleyball sweep of visiting Hamline in Friday night's MIAC volleyball match at UST's Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex.
The Tommies (17-3 overall, 4-1 MIAC) won 25-11, 25-17, 25-11 to push their win streak to 12 matches.
UST movd into a four-way tie for the MIAC lead as No. 12-ranked St. Olaf lost 3-0 at Bethel and St. Ben's lost 3-1 at home to St. Mary's. Concordia, St. Mary's, UST and St. Olaf are each 4-1 in the conference.
UST hit .252 and collected five aces as 16 players saw action. Emily Foster had 33 assists and three blocks, and Kaitlain Wachter had 14 digs.
Heidi Larsen had 21 digs and Sam Greeney-Hamlin had eight kills for the Pipers (9-12, 2-4).
UST plays Saturday at Macalester (3 p.m.).
