Early score aids Men's Soccer in 3-1 road win

Sophomore Angel Riera and freshman Kris O'Toole scored first half goals and the visiting Tommies scored a 3-1 win over UW-Platteville in non-conference men's soccer play Sunday in Platteville, Wis.
Riera surprised the Pioneers with a goal after a Platteville turnover in the fifth minute. O'Toole scored in the 42nd minute (assisted by Austin Kane) for a 2-0 lead.
Platteville scored in the 68th minute to cut the lead to 2-1, but junior Elliott Amundson scored a clinching goal in the 89th minute on a header, assisted by freshman Josh Pozner.
Carlos Castelan was in goal all 90 minutes. UST had a 9-6 edge in shots on goal but the Pioneers had a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
The Tommies start MIAC play next Saturday night at Augsburg.
