Women's Hoops loses 74-64 at Concordia

First-place Concordia-Moorhead (11-4 overall, 10-2 overall) received 71 points from its starting five in Wednesday night's 74-64 women's basketball win over visiting St. Thomas (9-6, 7-5).
The Cobbers, who have won nine of their last 10 games, sank 31-of-36 from the foul line, got 3-pointers
from six different players, and pulled away in the second half.
UST freshman guard Jordyn Sears scored a career-hgih 14 points, part of the Tommies' 37 bench points. Jenni Gillard scored 10 points and Jessica Katch had eight points and 11 rebounds. St. Thomas outrebounded the Cobbers 37-35 and shot 40% from the field but never led.
The Toms tied the game 31-31 in the final 30 seconds of the first half, but the Cobbers sank a trey in the closing seconds for a 34-31 halftime lead, and led by 7-12 points most of the second half.
