The St. Thomas women's soccer team played its third complete overtime game in eight days and finished in a 0-0 tie with Augsburg Saturday on the Auggies' field in Minneapolis.

UST (5-0-3 overall, 2-0-2 MIAC outshot the host Auggies 26-9 in regulation but was unable to find the net with a goal. Tommie freshman Allie Bryan was in goal for the 110-minute shutout. Augsburg (5-1-2, 1-0-2) stayed unbeaten in the conference.

St. Thomas is still one of a select group of Division III institutions with unbeaten men's and women's soccer teams. The Tommie men improved to 8-0 with a Saturday win at Buena Vista, while the UST women are now 5-0-3 (2-0-2 MIAC).

In soccer and volleyball, St. Thomas has a combined 25-1-3 record this fall. UST is home Wednesday to play Carleton (4 p.m.).

"The game was very fast paced," said UST assisatnt coach Dan Weisz. "Both teams played high pressure, which allowed very little space for offensive creativity. In net, freshman Allie Byron showed great composure in all seven of her saves.

"As the game progressed, the Tommies began to control possession. Our backline -- senior captains Courtney Walior and Stepah Paasch and Player picfreshmen Tess Hanson and Emily Burgmeier -- were dominant in the air and showed great composure on the ball."

Weisz said UST had scoring opportunities with junior Erin Sprangers and freshman Sloane Kuramoto each going close in the first half. The coach said that in the second half the Tommies outshot the Auggies 12-3 and dominated possession, with most of the game being played in the attacking half of the field.

"In overtime, the game evened out with both sides going close to winning it," Weisz said. "The best chance fell to sophomore Lexie Fisher, whose shot from 12 yards out went just wide of the net."
