Late surge drops Women's Hockey, 5-4

Senior Sara Mickelson scored a hat trick, including both the tying and go-ahead goals in the final 3:58, to lead the visiting Pipers (10-9-2 overall, 5-7-2 MIAC) to a 5-4 victory over the host Tommies (16-5, 10-4) in MIAC women's hockey play Saturday night at Saint Thomas Ice Arena in Mendota Heights.
Ashley Reinhardt scored two goals in 1:17 span to put UST ahead 4-2, but Hamline scored three in the final 4:51 to take the comeback win.
With four MIAC games to play, the Tommies still have a two-point lead on Concordia in the race for second place.
Kristine Beese and Kara Ledel each scored goals for the Tommies.
