Kara Ledel had a goal and an assist and the host Tommies secured an MIAC playoff berth with Friday night's 4-1 victory over St. Mary's in MIAC women's hockey play in Mendota Heights.
Lauren Bradel stopped 25 of 26 shots in goal, and four different players scored goals for St. Thomas (17-5 overall, 11-4 MIAC).
Jenny Schnaible's power-play goal midway through period two put UST ahead to stay at 2-1. Stephanie Tack and Kristine Beese added insurance goals. Aashley Reinhardt had an assist and has socred in six consecutive games.
The teams play again Saturday night in Winona.
