Senior guard Bryan Schnettler, held scoreless the first 12 minutes, sank 7-of-11 from 3-point range and scored 25 points for the No. 5-ranked Tommies (6-0 overall, 4-0 MIAC). UST stayed tied for the conference lead with St. John's, a nine-point road winner at Gustavus.

Macalester (2-4, 0-3) led by 16 points late in the first half and still led 43-31 at halftime. But a 32-10 run -- sparked by five treys by Schnettler -- gave the Toms an eight-point lead with 8:28 to go.

UST sophomore guard Brett Tuma was fouled immediately but he calmly made both ends of a one-and-one situation with 19 seconds left to put the Toms ahead 75-72. After a missed 3-pointer, Keating was fouled on the rebound and made two insurance free throws with seven seconds left.
UST, which outrebounded MAC 43-34, shot 59% in the second half and overcame 16 turnovers. The Scots had nine second-half turnovers after having just one with a crisp first-half offense.
Macalester junior Tom Conboy had 17 points and nine rebounds and became the 18th player in Scots' history to reach 1,000 points (now 1,001). Woldeslassie, who played on UST's junior-varsity program the previous two seasons, continued his strong play as Mac's point guard with 23 points, seven assists and three steals. Brad Liddell and Jesse Hollander each contributed 11 points.
The Toms are off until Dec. 21 when they host UW-LaCrosse in non-conference play.
