Women's Hockey gets exciting OT win, stays unbeaten

Sophomore Ashley Reinhardt scored with nine seconds left in the 5:00 sudden-death overtime Wednesday night as the No. 5-ranked Tommies (8-0) scored a 3-2 victory over host UW-Eau Claire (2-9-1) in non-conference women's hockey play.

St. Thomas is off to its first 8-0 start in the eight-year history of its varsity program.

Courtney Sekevitch had a goal and two assists, including the tying goal with 6:12 left in regulation. Senior Becky Kilpatrick stopped 15 shots and the Toms outshot the Blugolds 35-17.

Katie Jaeger also scored for St. Thomas.

UST is home Sunday to face St. Anselm (N.H.) (2 p.m.).
