Former Tommie All-America defensive lineman Austin Jochum starts his third season in 2021 on the St. Thomas coaching staff as Speed and Strength Coach.
During his playing career here, Jochum was chosen the MIAC's Stam Award winner in 2017 as the league's top lineman, and also made All-America.
The St. Thomas Exercise Science major was also a standout in track and field in the throws and helped the Tommies win numerous conference team championships. He was the MIAC weight throw champion and also a top-three conference placer in the hammer.
The Foley, Minn. native started the Jochum Strength gym. He has also worked as a strength and conditioning coach at Foley High; and last season served at St. Olaf College teams in football, track and field, tennis, hockey and basketball.
