Tommies to face Phoenix and Gophers to wrap up August
ST. PAUL, MINN.- Tommies hit the road once again to face the Green Bay Phoenix and Minnesota Gophers to wrap up the month of August. St. Thomas will face Green Bay, Thursday, August 27 at 7 p.m. and Minnesota Sunday, August 30th at 5 p.m.

Scouting the Phoenix
The Green Bay Phoenix are 3-0-1 and have played four Summit League foes to start the season. The Phoenix defeated NDSU 3-0, North Dakota, 2-1, and South Dakota 1-0. Most recently tied with Omaha.
Scouting the Gophers
Minnesota currently holds a 2-0-1 record and is set to play at No. 15 BYU on Thursday, August 27th. The Gophers made some noise during their last game on home turf as the tied 1-1 with No. 19 Georgia.
New era of Tommie Soccer
Tommie soccer is entering a new era this season with the addition of a brand-new coaching staff. Gretta Macdonald, Becca Brandt, and Alex Piekarski are the new faces on the sideline and have taken the rains of Tommie Women's soccer.
Becca Brandt will be the interim head coach for the 2026 season as Head Coach Gretta Macdonald takes a leave of absence.
Brandt comes to St. Thomas with numerous coaching experience, most recently she served on Macdonald's staff for one season at St. Cloud State. Becca also spent time at UW-Madison as an assistant and recruiting coordinator (2022-2025). Brandt also spent her playing career at UW-Madison from 2014-2018; she served as the team captain in 2017.
Alex Piekarski also joins the Tommie staff as an assistant with a vast coaching resume. Piekarskie spent two seasons with Macdonald at SCSU. Prior to that, he spent five seasons as the head coach of Northwestern Oklahoma State. He also spent time as the head coach at NAIA Hastings College, and an assistant at Utah State and Wayne State College.
2026 Tommies
The Tommies return 15 to the squad and have added 10 new additions.
Schedule Talk
The St. Thomas Tommies will play seven games on home turf at South Field during the 2026 season. Five of the seven home games will be Summit League contests.
