Four Tommies earn Preseason All-PFL honors

ST. PAUL, MINN. – The University of St. Thomas football team was among the top offensive teams in the Pioneer Football League (PFL) in 2025. It comes as no surprise that four Tommies were named to the 2026 Preseason All-Pioneer Football League Team on the offensive side of the ball.Wide receiver Quentin Cobb-Butler (Woodbury, Minn. / Woodbury), tight end Luke Schuler (Kenosha, Wis. / Saint Joseph Catholic Academy), tight end Patrick Wagner (Crofton, Md. / Archbishop Spaulding), and offensive lineman James Morrison (West St. Paul, Minn. / Cretin-Derham Hall) were all selected to the PFL Preseason All-Conference team for the first time in their careers.
The Preseason All-PFL team is voted on by the league's 11 head coaches, and players on the ballot are nominated by the conference's sports information and athletic communications professionals. Returning members of the 2025 All-Conference teams are automatically eligible for nomination.
All four Tommies are first time honorees and the first four offensive players to receive Preseason All-Conference recognition since Alec Rasmussen and Hope Adebayo earned the honor in 2024. The honors come just 24 hours after St. Thomas was picked to finish third in the PFL Preseason Coaches Poll.
St. Thomas will officially kick off the 2026 season on Thursday, August 27 when the team hosts the Winona State Warriors for the first time in the DI era. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at O'Shaughnessy Stadium in St. Paul, Minnesota, and single game tickets are now on sale at www.tommiesports.com/tickets.
