ST. PAUL, MINN. – The University of St. Thomas compliance department was honored Tuesday by the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC). Associate Athletics Director for Compliance Andrew Nelson and Assistant Director of Compliance Kaylee Hentges were recognized with the NAAC Small Compliance Office Award and will be honored at the NAAC Convention in early June.

THE NAAC SMALL COMPLIANCE OFFICE AWARD:
The NAAC Small Compliance Office Award is given annually to one compliance office consisting of no more than one to three full- or part-time staff members, including graduate assistants. The staff demonstrates an outstanding level of commitment and dedication to the industry, doing a lot with a little.

Nelson and Hentges led the Tommies' compliance efforts during the department's historic transition from Division III to Division I, managing one of the most complex mid-major sport profiles while ushering the department into a new era of rules and governance. Their efforts were especially impressive as they guided St. Thomas through new NCAA and conference requirements, mastering the regulations of four different conferences and a new division. Additionally, the duo provides tailored educational training to all teams, ensuring programming is relevant, timely and practical for all student-athletes.
