Roder tallies three hits for the Purple
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- St. Thomas baseball falls 7-3 in series final against the University of New Mexico Lobos. Joe Roder led the offense and picked up his first multiple hit game of the season after tallying three hits for the Purple.
Scoring Summary:
St. Thomas struck first in the bottom of the second taking a early 1-0 lead. Joe Roder reached via hit by pitch, advanced on a wild pitch and came around to score on a RBI single off the bat of Lucas McNellis.
The Lobos quickly responded, taking a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second off a two-run homerun.
New Mexico extended their lead to three as they plated two more in the bottom of the third to make the score 4-1.
The Lobos then added two more in the seventh, taking a 7-1 lead.
The Tommies plated one of their own after Joe Roder recorded a double and came around to score on Zan Von Schlegell's RBI single, making the score 7-2 in the eighth.
Easton Fritcher doubled in the ninth and came around to score on a RBI single from Owen Bond to plate another Tommie run and make the score 7-3.
Up Next
The Tommies will hit the road once again to take on the Kansas Jayhawks March 5-8 in Lawerance, Kansas.
