The Tommies drew another Ohio St. penalty at 5:28 and kept the puck in the attacking end with attempts from Ella Boerger and Teagan Kulenkamp, but Ohio St. kept the lead intact. Dunne added an even-strength goal at :23, assisted by Svensson and Mira Jungåker, to send Ohio St. into the intermission ahead 2-0.

The Tommies earned a late power play on Carmichael's tripping penalty at 1:45 and another at the horn after Raunio was called for roughing, but the second period ended with Ohio St. ahead 4-1.
The Tommies began the third with the remaining power-play time and put two early shots toward Rowan Houweling, but Ohio St. killed off both carryover penalties and pushed back with a series of attempts that Novakova and the Tommies' shot blockers handled. After a stretch of chances at both ends, the Tommies converted a power play at 6:30 when Horton scored off assists from JuliAnna Gazdik and Boerger to make it 4-2.
