Janowski claims first career Summit League Peak Performer of the Week

Redshirt freshman scored career high 31 points with 7 rebounds during win over Denver
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The St. Thomas men's basketball program saw its third 30-point performance of the season Sunday afternoon as Nick Janowski dropped a career high 31 points during a win over Denver, leading to Summit League Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week honors for the redshirt freshman, the league office announced Tuesday.
Janowski, a native of Pewaukee, Wis., claimed his first weekly league honor to help the Tommies to a win over the Pioneers to start the Summit League schedule. He made 12-of-22 field goals, including three 3-pointers, along with 7 rebounds and 1 assist. Janowski scored 19 of his 31 points on 7-of-12 overall and 3-of-3 free throws in the second half. His 31 points was the most by a Summit League player this week and is one of five 30-point performance in the league this season, two coming from Nolan Minessale in December.
Janowski joins Minessale as St. Thomas student-athletes to earn the weekly award this season, as Minessale has done so four times in 2025-26. Prior to this season, the program totaled three weekly award winners between the 2021-22 and 2024-25 seasons, two coming during the 2022-23 campaign.
St. Thomas closes its four-game homestand with an 8 p.m. tip-off Wednesday, Jan. 7 against South Dakota at Lee & Penny Anderson Arena. The game will be broadcast on television live on FOX9+.
