Tommies earn first WCHA sweep of season defeating the Beavers

Four different Tommies score in win over Bemidji
ST. PAUL MINN. - The St. Thomas Tommies (10-12-0, 5-11-0) down Bemidji State Beavers (5-14-3, 2-13-1) 4-1 on Saturday to earn a weekend sweep.
The last time the Tommies swept the Beavers was back in 2022 at St. Thomas Ice Arena. More recently the Purples last WCHA series sweep was in 2025 when they defeated the then No.4 Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs.
Today's win ties for the most wins in a season in the division one era for the Purple.
Scoring Summary:
First Period: The Bemidji State Beavers struck first scoring just four minutes into the game to take an early 1-0 lead. Ilsa Lindaman then knotted the game at one after finding the back of the net off passes from Chloe Boreen and Jenessa Gazdik. With just five minutes remaining in the first, Ella Boerger gave the Tommies the go ahead. Lindaman and Boreen chipped in assists for their second points of the period. St. Thomas outshot the Beavers 11 to 6 through the first 20 minutes.
Second Period: St. Thomas has a flurry of opportunities in the second tallying 13 shots on the period, the purple was able to net two goals at the beginning and end of the period. Rylee Bartz scored her 12th goal of the season just 17 seconds into the period. Chloe Boreen then scored her third point of the day by netting a goal of her own with just 15 seconds remaining in the period. Lindaman, Brown, and JuliAnna Gazdik recorded assists in the period.
Third Period: The scored remained 4-1 the entirety of the third period, the Tommies tallied 5 shots on goal in the final 20
Goalkeeper Dani Strom tallied 18 saves in net for a total of 35 on the weekend.
Forwards Chloe Boreen and Ilsa Lindaman each had a three-point day with a goal and two assists each. Five other Tommies chipped in a point.
Up Next
The Tommies will be back at Lee & Penny Anderson Arena, January 16-17 for another WCHA series against the No. 1 Wisconsin Badgers. The puck is slated to drop at 2 p.m. both Friday and Saturday.
