Boreen nets lone Tommies goal
ST. PAUL MINN. - The St. Thomas Tommies (10-13-0, 5-12-0) fall 5-1 to the No. Wisconsin Badgers (20-1-2) on Friday afternoon.
Chloe Boreen netted the lone Tommie goal, her ninth on the season.
Julia Minotti tallied 40 saves in goal for the Purple.
Scoring Summary:
First Period: The Badgers got on the board first scoring 46 seconds into the game off a face off in their offensive zone. Wisconsin then scored a shorthanded goal to make it 2-0.
Second Period: The Tommies then cut the deficit in half after Chloe Boreen netted her ninth of the season after the Purple cause some chaos in front of the net. Assists were credited to Keara Parker and Cara Sajevic.
Third Period: Wisconsin then tallied three goals in the third to take a 5-1 lead over the Tommies.
Up Next
The Tommies will be back at Lee & Penny Anderson Arena, January 16-17 for another WCHA series against the No. 1 Wisconsin Badgers. The puck is slated to drop at 2 p.m. both Friday and Saturday.
