Women’s Soccer set to finish non-conference schedule at Western Illinois

Tommies hit road for non-conference finale
ST. PAUL, MINN.- St. Thomas Women's Soccer (2-4-1) is set to round out the non-conference portion of their schedule against the Western Illinois Leathernecks (1-8).
The Tommies are looking to bounce back after falling in the last three matches.

Battle with Green Bay
St. Thomas fell 2-1 in a hard-fought battle with the Green Bay Phoenix in the last non-conference home match of the season.
Graduate student Mackenzie Jacobson scored the lone Tommie goal in the 85th minute, her third of the season. Jacobson leads the Tommies in both goals (3) and assists (2).
Scouting the Leathernecks
The Western Illinois Leathernecks are 1-8 on the season, with their win coming back on August 15th against St. Ambrose. Most recently, the Leathernecks fell to Omaha 7-1 on Sept. 14th.
The Leathernecks are led by freshman Abigail Schilling, and fifth-year Kayla Turner who each have two goals on the season.
Western Illinois is led by head coach Ross Henderson, who is in his first season at the helm of the program. Henderson spet four seasons (2021-24) as the head coach of Clayton State University.
The Tommies and Leathernecks have met three times before, most recently in 2024 when the Tommies won 2-0. St. Thomas is 2-1 overall against the Leathernecks.
Up Next
St. Thomas will begin conference play on the road at South Dakota State on September 25th and will remain on the road to take on South Dakota on September 28th.
