Piehl, Rosner voted Summit Indoor Track & Field Academic All-League

Duo become third and fourth all-time selections for St. Thomas men
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- St. Thomas was represented on the 2025 Summit League Indoor Track & Field Academic All-League Team with two selections, the league office announced Wednesday.
Mitchell Piehl and Jack Rosner were selected from the men's squad, Rosner making his second career appearance on the team (2022-23). The selections mark the third and fourth all-time for the indoor program since joining in 2021-22.
Piehl, a native of Hutchinson, Minn., was named to the academic team with a 3.98 GPA as a computer science major. He was part of 4x400m relay that finished fourth and broke St. Thomas record with sixth place finish in 400m dash at 2025 Summit League Indoor Championships. Piehl ranked fourth in the 200m dash and seventh in the 400m dash in the Summit League this season. He set or tied four indoor program records (200m, 300m, 400m, 4x400m) and set six program top 10 marks.
Piehl is a two-time Summit League Academic Honor Roll member and was named to the 2024 Summit League Outdoor All-Academic Team.
Rosner, from De Pere, Wis., earned a spot to the team with a 3.91 GPA in electrical engineering. He finished second in the heptathlon at the 2025 Summit League Indoor Championships, one of three Summit Indoor All-League Team finishes in the event during his career (injured in 2024). Rosner ranked second in the heptathlon, sixth in the 60m hurdles, 11th in pole vault, 18th in shot put and 20th in long jump in the Summit League this past season and set three St. Thomas records through indoor season (60m hurdles, heptathlon, 4x400m relay).
Rosner is a three-time Summit League Academic Honor Roll member and two-time Summit League Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence selection. He was named to the 2024 Summit League Outdoor All-Academic Team, the 2022-23 Summit League Indoor All-Academic Team and the 2022-23 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
To be eligible for the Academic All-League Team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions.
Nominations are brought forth by sports information director from the league's institutions that carry indoor track & field, and voting is conducted by both the SIDs and faculty athletic representative (FARs). Each team is made up of the 15 student-athletes receiving the most votes with all ties standing.
