The Tommies fell to the Rams, 3-0
SAN MARCOS, Tex. – St. Thomas Softball (5-5) fell back down to .500 with a shutout loss to the Fordham Rams (4-6) on Sunday to conclude the Bobcat Tournament hosted by Texas State.
Recap
The Tommies were held off the scoreboard for first time in 2025 by the Fordham Rams. The offense mustered just four hits and three walks in 25 at-bats. Their best chance came in the bottom of the third inning when they loaded the bases with two outs. Kaitlyn Raymond singled to left field and Cassidy Carby followed it up with a single to right. After Avery Wukawitz grounded out to move up both runners, Ella Cook walked but no runs scored.
Christina Crawford pitched into the seventh inning and allowed three earned runs on six hits, five walks, and five strikeouts. The Rams' first run off Crawford was a lead off solo home run in the top of the second. Crawford bounced back with three consecutive strike outs and did not allow another run until the fifth.
Fordham scored one in the fifth and one more in the seventh. Ella Cook came into that final frame with one runner on and no outs. She allowed the inherited runner to score, but nothing else.
The Toms combined for four singles in the ballgame from Raymond, Carby, Wukawitz, and Lienhard. Cook, Abbi Stierlen, and Adrianna Young each reached base safely with a walk. Wukawitz stole her fourth base of the season after her two out single in the first.
