SCORING SUMMARY:
First Quarter: Scoring was a struggle for both teams in the opening 10 minutes of play. St. Thomas struggled to find early rhythm offensively, scoring just six points while Northern Arizona capitalized on turnovers to build a 12–6 lead after one.
Second Quarter: The Tommies settled during the second, shooting nearly 47% from the field in the period. Sand and Feuerbach helped generate momentum, but the Lumberjacks maintained a 31–22 advantage at halftime.
Third Quarter: Crucial third quarter plays sparked St. Thomas' comeback, especially from beyond the arc. Hauge's perimeter shooting and a series of strong plays in the paint helped the Tommies close the gap, slowly but surely. After Northern Arizona took a 49-38 lead with 2:09 remaining in the quarter, St. Thomas closed on a 6-0 run, as layups from Mikayla Werner (Hortonville, Wis. / Hortonville) and Feuerbach helped the Tommies pull within five at 49-44.
Fourth Quarter: St. Thomas erupted for 30 points in the final frame—the team's highest-scoring quarter of the season. It was the Tommies defense, though, that impressed in the final 10 minutes of play. St. Thomas limited the Lumberjacks to 17 fourth quarter points, as Northern Arizona made just six baskets total in the closing minutes of regulation. Jada Hood (St. Paul, Minn. / Roseville Area) gave the Tommies a 55-53 lead with 5:12 left in regulation, while clutch free throws from Feuerbach and Aalsma secured the 74-66 victory for St. Thomas.
