Sophomore guard earns fourth Summit League Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week award

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Make that four for number four as the Summit League announced St. Thomas sophomore guard Nolan Minessale as the Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

Minessale recorded his second 30-point game of the season, the first instance for the program during the Division I era, and averaged 26.5 points per game on 70.4 percent shooting as he led Tommie Men's Basketball to a 2-0 week. St. Thomas began the week with an 80-56 win over Saint John's (MN) in front of a sold-out Lee & Penny Anderson Arena before an 80-59 win at UNC Asheville.

The Brookfield, Wis., native began the week with 30 points on 11-of-15 shooting (.733), including 2-of-3 on 3-pointers, with 11 rebounds during the win over the Johnnies. It was his second straight 30-point game and his first career double-double, tying Nick Janowski for the team's most in a game this season. Minessale followed up with 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting (.667), 2-of-2 from long range), along with 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block during the road win over the Bulldogs.

Minessale led the Summit League in scoring average over the past week, was second in field goal percentage and fifth in total assists (7). He extended his nation-leading 20-point game total to 11, two more than the next highest, while he is one of four nationally with at least 20.0 points per game, 4.0 assists per game and a 2.0 assist-to-turnover ratio.

The Summit League has featured one player with at least four performer of the week honors in the same season over each of the past four seasons. Oscar Cluff (South Dakota State, 2024-25) and Tommy Bruner (Denver, 2023-24) each received the award five times while Max Abmas (Oral Roberts, 2022-23) earned the honor four times.

St. Thomas begins a four-game homestand Saturday, Dec. 20 with a 7 p.m. tip-off against UC Riverside at Lee & Penny Anderson Arena.
