Tommies drop conference game in Kansas City

Alejandro Giner scored in the final moments of the 3-1 defeat
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – St. Thomas Men's Soccer (6-4-3, 1-2-0) kept the first place Kansas City Roos (7-2-4, 3-1-0) off the scoreboard through most of the first half but could not hold on in the final 45, falling 3-1 on the road Saturday night.
Game Summary
First Half
-Neither team recorded a single shot on goal until the Roos broke through with a goal on their first shot in the 43rd minute.
-The Toms followed with their only shot on goal of the half from Yanis Lakhlifi, also in the 43rd minute.
-Mateus Moura of Kansas City received the only card of the half in the 30th minute for an aggressive tackle on Ronan Selbo.
Second Half
-Another Kansas City player received a yellow in the 53rd minute shortly after the halftime break.
-The Roos doubled their lead in the 68th minute, Chance Therrien received a yellow in the 72nd minute.
-Alejandro Giner made it a game again in the 88th minute from Baraka Kania, but the Roos answered back in the final minute to make it a 3-1 finish.

The Tommies have one more game on the road against Green Bay on Tuesday, October 21 at 5:00 p.m. before returning to South Field for their first ever matchup with Summit League opponent, UMass on Saturday, October 25 at 12:00 p.m.
