Tommie Cross Country to run Friday at Pink Classic

St. Thomas men and women to begin races at 11:45 a.m. in Peoria, Ill.
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Tommie Cross Country teams are back in action Friday, Oct. 17 as the men and women will run at the Pink Classic, starting at 11:45 a.m., hosted by Bradley University in Peoria. Ill.

Last Time Out
The St. Thomas cross country teams impressed across two meets during its last weekend out, earning top-three team finishes at both the Joe Piane Invitational in South Bend, Ind., and the Blugold Invitational in Eau Claire, Wis. The Tommie men placed second of 21 teams in the Gold Division at Notre Dame, led by personal-best performances from juniors Max Westerlund (ninth, 24:34.9), Adam Lueth (12th, 24:39.0), and freshman Casey Poppler (19th, 24:51.4).
The women also excelled in South Bend, taking third of 22 teams in the Gold Division 5K as sophomore Olivia Pauly led the way in seventh with a personal-record time of 17:33.2. Freshmen Layla Vennink (16th) and Lindsay Berg (18th) joined her in the top 20. Additional PRs highlighted the Tommie depth at both meets, including strong outings from freshmen Lauren Heneman and Melana Webber at the Blugold Invitational.
