#1 Wisconsin defeats Women’s Hockey

Clough tallies her fifth goal of the season in loss
MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. – The St. Thomas women's hockey team hosted the top-ranked Wisconsin Badgers for game two of its WCHA series. On Saturday afternoon, Wisconsin (24-1-1, 18-1-0 WCHA) defeated St. Thomas (5-17-2, 2-15-1 WCHA) by a score of 11-1.
RECAP
The Wisconsin Badgers took the early lead on Saturday afternoon, scoring three goals in the opening frame. The Badgers found themselves on the lone power play of the period, capitalizing on the player advantage at the midpoint of the frame.
St. Thomas went on its first player advantage just 20 seconds into the second period. Adding two shots on goal, the Tommies were unable to capitalize on the power play opportunity.
The Badgers added four second period goals before Maddy Clough tallied the Tommies lone goal of the afternoon, assisted by Ilsa Lindaman and Rylee Bartz.
Wisconsin totaled four third period goals, defeating the Tommies 11-1 in the series finale.
