The Tommies finished their first 18 holes in ninth place with 36 left to play in Madison, Wisconsin.
MADISON, Wis. – Isabelle Lynch's one-over-par performance led the way as the Tommies finished day one of the Badger Invitational in ninth place with a team score of 307 (+19). UTSA currently leads the tournament with a 295 (+7) with 36 holes to go.
Lynch, a senior from Bloomington, Minn., debuted her 2024-25 season at one-over-par (73) in an eight-way tie for seventh place. She birdied two holes on the front nine and three on the back. All three of those back-half birdies came after a rocky start with a double-bogey on 10 and bogey on 12. She finished two-under-par on the course's five par-fives.
Freshman Amelia Morton tied her teammate, and reigning Summit League Newcomer of the Year, Kathryn VanArragon at five-over-par (77) for 32nd place. Morton bogeyed three on the front and back, including holes 10, 11, and 12 but showed tremendous poise with six-straight holes at or below par. She recorded her first collegiate birdie on 16.
VanArragon had a similar round to Morton with six bogeys through the first 12 holes. She too bounced back with five even holes and a birdie on 16 down the stretch.
Emma Davies cracked the top-50 with an 80 (+8) while Nicole Reineke finished tied for 68th place with an 84 (+12). Mallory Belka carded a +11 while competing as an individual.
