Lindahl, Olson earn wins on day one of competition
NORMAL, Ill.—The St. Thomas Women's Tennis team opened play at the Redbird Invitational on Friday morning. Falling in three close doubles battles, two Tommies picked up wins in singles action on day one of competition.
In doubles, the duo of Caroline Lindahl and Ingrid Forsberg fell to host, Illinois State 6-8 on Friday morning. Regina Talavera and Anna Louise Bjørnestad faced a pair from Marquette, battling to an ultimately 7-8 (6-8) loss.
In singles, Lindahl bounced back to defeat Laure Rezet of Milwaukee (6-2, 6-3) to earn the Purple's first victory of the day. In three sets, Lily Olson earned a win over Nicole Iosio of the Redbirds (6-2, 4-6, 10-5).
Olson remains undefeated in singles competition to start her Tommie career.
