Baseball drops game two to the Gophers

Sean Marlow records first career hit in first collegiate start
MINNEAPOLIS – St. Thomas baseball wrapped up its two-game series against the Gophers on Wednesday evening. The Tommies (14-18, 9-5 Summit) dropped game two to Minnesota (18-18, 4-8 Big Ten) at Siebert Field.
In the final game of the series, Minnesota gained the early lead scoring two runs in the opening frame, and tallied eight runs over six consecutive innings. Shutting down the Tommie offense, Minnesota defeated St. Thomas 8-0.
Starting in his first game of the season, Sean Marlow recorded his first collegiate hit in the top of the seventh inning. Six different Tommies recorded a hit on Wednesday night led by Mikey Gottschalk who recorded his 10th multi-hit game.
Evan Jackson and Marlin Sejnoha combined for three scoreless innings against the Gophers. Sejnoha recorded career-high three strikeouts over 2.0 innings of work.
