Degeorges earns win in singles and doubles action to help lift Tommies over Tigers
Jackson, Miss. -- The St. Thomas women's tennis team continued its road trip to the southern United States, facing Jackson State in a non-conference match. The Tommies picked up their first win of the road trip, defeating the Tigers 4-2 on Thursday afternoon.
With doubles victories from the top-two pairings, St. Thomas earned the doubles point for the first time on this road trip.
In the close duo battles, Olivia Paradise and Yinong Ma (7-5), and Marthe Degeorges and Regina Talavera (6-4) earned their first victories as doubles pairings on this road trip series.
In the top-three singles spots, Degeorges (6-3, 6-3), Jannah ElNemr (7-6, 7-2, 6-3) and Caroline Lindahl (6-3, 7-6, 7-4) secured the Tommies' victory over Jackson State. Competing in three sets, Lindahl clinched the win for Purple. Degeorges remained undefeated on the day, earning a win in singles and doubles action to help lift Tommies over Tigers.
