Armstrong’s Top-15 finish highlights Men’s Golf’s Grand Canyon Invite

Matthew Armstrong tallied two rounds under par enroute to a top-15 finish in a competitive field of 93 golfers.

Phoenix, Ariz. – Tommie Men's Golf finished in 15th of 16 teams in a high caliber event at the Grand Canyon University golf course. The Toms finished just four strokes behind Summit League squad, Omaha. 
 
Matthew Armstrong finished out two rounds under par for the Purple and secured a top-15 finish out of a 93-golfer field. Day one saw two straight rounds under-par with a 70 (-1), and 67 (-4). Armstrong combined for nine birdies between his first two rounds. The senior finished his third round two strokes over par (73) and ultimately settled for a tie for 14th place at 210 (-3). He was just two strokes out of the top ten and four from the top five. 
 
Will Frazier finished 11 strokes behind Armstrong in a tie for 71st placed. He finished round one a stroke over par, round two five over, and round three two over. Matthew Garside and Zach Rouleau each tied for 80th with a 223 (+10). Garside shot par during his first round. Gavin Newkirk rounded out the Toms' lineup with a 227 (+14)
