Five Tommies earn singles match wins in Women’s Tennis victory over Western Illinois

The Tommies defeat the Leathernecks 6-1 on Saturday afternoon
MINNEAPOLIS - The St. Thomas women's tennis team defeated Western Illinois in its first match of the weekend. St. Thomas took the doubles point with a 6-1 and 6-2 victory, and found success in singles to lift the Tommies over the Leathernecks, 6-1.
RECAP
St. Thomas started the match by taking the point in doubles play over the Leathernecks. The doubles pairings of Olivia Paradise and Yinong Ma (6-1), and Jannah ElNemr and Shrichandrakala Tentu (6-2) earned match wins to secure the doubles victory.
In singles action, a season-high of five Tommies earned match wins. ElNemr (6-2, 6-1), Marthe Degeorges (6-2, 6-0), Olivia Paradise (6-1, 7-5), Yinong Ma (6-1, 6-0), and Naisha Srivastav (6-2, 6-1) all won in their singles matches on Friday afternoon.
Caroline Lindahl fell in close singles competition, 6-3, 6-7, 6-8.
TOP TOMMIES
• The doubles pair of Olivia Paradise and Yinong Ma earned victories in doubles and singles play, going undefeated Friday afternoon.
• Jannah ElNemr earned doubles win, as well as a singles victory, going undefeated.
