Women’s Tennis Day One Results at Gopher Invite

Degeorges wins singles, doubles on Friday
MINNEAPOLIS – The Tommies opened their fall 2023 season at the Gopher Invitational on Friday. Three Tommies won individual matches and one doubles team won their match on the first day of the three-day event.
Marthe Degeorges finished the day with a singles and a double win at Baseline Tennis Center. The Tommies earned two additional individual match wins as Shrichandrakala Tentu and Naisha Srivasta defeated their opponents on day one of competition. Freshman Caroline Lindahl forced set three in her individual match, but ultimately fell to a South Dakota opponent.
TOP TOMMIES
· In doubles action, junior Marthe Degeorges and senior Jannah ElNemr defeated Darta Dalecka and Lorena Cardoso from Northern Iowa, 6-2.
· Marthe Degeorges picked up her second win of the day with a singles match victory Omaha's Zoe Adkins, 6-3, 6-3
· Shrichandrakala Tentu defeated a Marquette's Emma Davis, 6-3 and 7-5.
· Naisha Srivastav won her singles match against Sreelasya Mylavarapu of Northern Iowa by scores of 6-2 and 6-4
