Bloomington, Minn. -- Tommie Women's Tennis put together a rally in singles play with three wins, but still fell just short in a 4-3 loss to Omaha in Sunday's Summit League match at the Lifetime Fitness 98th Street courts. It was the home finale for St. Thomas.
Omaha (7-14 overall, 3-3 Summit) took the doubles point with a pair of 6-3 wins, then closed out two singles matches for a 3-0 lead.
The Toms tied the match with victories by Marthe Degeorges at No. 1, Naisha Srivastav at No. 6, and Shrichandrakala Tentu at No. 4. Srivastav won the second and third sets to push her singles win streak to three.
The Mavs' Zoe Adkins won a three-set match at No. 2 singles to pull out the team victory.
Quoting Coach Lois Arterberry
"It was a good fight by the ladies today, we battled on every court. We got another good match from Marthe, and Tentu and Naisha put a point on the board, too. Everybody fought, now we're just looking forward to our last match of the season next Sunday."
