Track and Field men, women have several PRs at home meet

St. Paul, Minn. -- Graduate student Christian Beamer set a career-best with a winning high jump of 6-9 1-2 to lead Tommie Men's Track and Field performances Friday at the Tomcat Invite. That mark ranks No. 2 in the Summit League and in the top 50 across Division I so far this outdoor season.
Nearly 20 schools were represented for men and women at the non-team scored meet at O'Shaughnessy Stadium.
Beamer's previous career best was 6-9 while competing as an undergrad at St. Mary's University. Tommie teammate Grady Clem cleared 6-4 3-4 for fourth place.
Gary Afram (10.79) and Isaiah Hopf (10.86) placed first and third out of 50 entrants in the 100 dash. Hopf's time was a personal best.
Freshman Mitchell Piehl (22.00) took first out of 28 runners in the 200 dash with a personal best time.
Freshman Thomas Dundon took first out of 60 entrants in the 800 in 1:55.63. Freshman Cameron Heppner (1:56.78), sophomore John Morrison (1:57.32) and freshman Samuel Gausmann (1:57.38) placed 3-7-8.
Nathan Raddatz placed third out of 16 in the 110 hurdles in a personal-best time of 15.28. He also ran on the winning 4x400 relay in 3:26.03.
Calvin Bream (50.54) and Mitchell Warmington (50.98) placed 6-8 out of 31 in the 400 dash.
Cameron Schulz and Raddatz placed 7-8 in the pole vault as both cleared 13-4 1-4.
Women
Freshmen Olivia Keller (18-2 1-4) and Cassia Cady (18-0 1-2) set personal bests in the long jump and placed 1-2 out of 26 entrants. Brianna Fleek (17-4) and Maggie Olejnik (16-10 1-2) placed 4-6. Keller's mark is a St. Thomas Division I-era best for the long jump.
Sophomores Katie Nollette and Olivia Passeri each cleared 11-0 1-4 and placed third and fifth in a field of 20 pole vaulters.
Hailey Hindt took second in the 400 hurdles in a season-best 64.16. Hindt also joined on the winning 4x400 relay in 3:59.48 with Alexis Pratt, Keller and Anika Elvrum.

St. Thomas Track and Field will send athletes to various sites next weekend, with April 13-15 meets in California at Cal State Los Angeles and Azusa Pacific; and Saturday April 15 meets at Bethel and at St. John's (multi-events).

- Ava Pankratz (18:04) and Christina Bolcer (career best 18:10) placed sixth and eighth out of 31 runners in the 5,000.
- Taynian Walgrave (12.59) and Cady (12.68) had personal bests in the 100 dash and placed 4-5 in a field of 60 entrants.
- Colette Argiro (141-9) took fifth out of 31 in the hammer throw with a personal best.
- Amaya Lyrek placed eighth out of 45 in the 800 in 2:21.63.
- Emma Potratz placed seventh out of 34 in the shot put (39-2 1-2).
- Alix Gifford (4:57) placed for 18th out of 67 entrants in the 1,500.
- Josie Liebl (14.51) placed eighth out of 26 in the 100 hurdles.
- Maddy Dolby (26.84) took eighth out of 58 in the 200 dash.
- Mariana Lehrer (34-3 1-2) and Sophia Fabry (33-11 1-2) placed fourth and fifth in the triple jump.
