Bjorklund, Miller, Martinelli named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District®

St. Paul, Minn. -- St. Thomas Men's Basketball earned three placements on the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® team, the organization announced Tuesday. Graduate students Parker Bjorklund and Riley Miller, and junior Dom Martinelli were recognized by the CSC for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Bjorklund was an entrepreneurship major in undergrad and is a digital experience major in graduate school. He ranks 10th in the Summit League with 14.7 points per game, including five 20-point games, and is second shooting 51.3 percent from the field.
Miller was a marketing management major in undergrad and is a digital experience major in graduate school. He has put in the sixth most 3-pointers in Division I over the last two seasons with 187 and is tied for second in the Summit League this season with 2.9 3-point field goals per game. Last Saturday against Western Illinois, Miller set the St. Thomas program record for most games played in with 123.
Martinelli is a financial management major. He's played in 15 games this season and is shooting 57.7 percent from the field. Martinelli has scored in double figures twice off the bench this year, including a career high 18 points Nov. 29.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA – for each gender.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-American ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in mid-March.
