QUOTEABLES
Thoughts from men's head coach Pete Wareham after Friday's weather-challenged race:
"We were hoping to build some momentum in this last meet before the Summit League Championship. We did have a couple of solid races today, and George Edgar had a fantastic race in tough conditions. That was great to see.
"We will need to perform at a higher level at the conference meet. I know our guys will do just that in a couple of weeks. We are looking forward to it."
Thoughts from women's head coach Ashley Lucas following the Pink Classic:
"Today was a really decent day for us! The course conditions weren't super ideal, especially by the last race, but the majority of the returners had very nice personal bests on this course. They competed well and showed a lot of grit. Last year we finished 25th out of 28 and this year we were 12th out of 32 so I'm really happy with the year progression. We continue to have things we need to work out but we are excited about the future."
UP NEXT?
The Tommie women return to the course Saturday, Oct. 21, sending a select group of student-athletes to Rocky's Run at the Les Bolstad Golf Course hosted by Minnesota. Both squads will then wrap up their seasons Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Summit League Championships in Brookings, S.D.
