Women's Tennis caps weekend at U of M Gopher event

Minneapolis, Minn. - Freshman Naisha Srivastav posted wins in singles and doubles Sunday to lead St. Thomas Women's Tennis in the final day of the three-day Gopher Invitational at the Baseline courts. Six teams participated in the event.
Srivastav teamed with Monterey Knewtson in doubles and won 6-4 over South Dakota's Maya Arksey and Bea Havlickova. The Tommie duo also lost a 6-4 doubles decision to North Dakota's Nyah Kauders and Andrea Jansson.
Srivastav also won her singles match over Marquette's Tiana Windbuchler, 7-5, 6-2.
Tommie junior Jannah ElNemr scored a hard-fought victory in singles over North Dakota's Nore Heinitz, 7-6, 4-6, 6-1.
ElNemr and Nicole Snezhko lost a close battle to Marquette's Windbuchler and Tina Hopman, 6-4.
Tommie sophomore Marthe Degeorges lost 6-4, 6-2 in singles to Minnesota Aiva Schmitz.
