Women's Tennis day 2 results at U of M tourney

Minneapolis, Minn. - Sophomore transfer Martha Degeorges posted wins in singles and doubles Saturday to lead St. Thomas Women's Tennis in day two of the three-day Gopher Invitational at the Baseline courts. Six teams are participating in the event, which concludes Sunday.
Degeorges scored a 6-0, 6-1 singles win over Northern Iowa's Thaissa Moreira.
She also joined teammate Shrichandrakala Tentu to post a 6-1 victory over South Dakota's Sydney Weinberg and Sonia Skobkareva. The Degeorges-Tentu team also lost 6-3 to Marquette's Elisabeth Desmarais and Andie Weise.
In another close decision, the St. Thomas team of Monterey Knewtson and Naisha Srivrastav lost 7-5 in doubles to North Dakota's Charlotte Bowles and Angela Goergieva.
