St. Paul, Minn. - Jacob Woznicki split the defense in the 79th minute and converted his fourth goal of the young season -- and this game's only goal -- to lead Stonehill College to a 1-0 victory over Tommie Men's Soccer in non-conference play Saturday afternoon at South Field.
The Easton, Mass., college claimed its first Division-I victory in season one after moving up from NCAA Division II play.
Playing its home opener, St. Thomas (1-4) had a big advantage in corner kicks (11-3), and an edge in shots on goal (5-3), but was unable to finish on a few promising scoring chances.
Ryan Coutu made five saves in net for the Skyhawks (1-3). Tucker Mann had two saves for the Toms.
