Game Notes - Men's Hockey set for Bemidji road series

2/24/2022 10:20:00 AM | Men's Hockey

St. Thomas Men's Hockey (3-28-1 overall, 3-20-1 CCHA) finishes the regular season on the road at Bemidji State (14-18 overall, 12-12 CCHA). Puck drop is scheduled for 7:07 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25 and 6:07 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26.

This marks St. Thomas' first men's hockey trip to Bemidji since it split a series at BSU early in the 1998-99 season.

The last time the two teams met, Dec. 3-4, the Toms fell on home ice by scores of 5-2 and 6-1.

St. Thomas will look to continue its positive surge it is making during the 2022 calendar year. After a 1-18 start to the season, the Purple closed the 2021 portion of their schedule with a 4-3 overtime loss to No. 15-ranked Michigan Tech. They followed on Jan. 2 with a 5-2 exhibition loss to the top-10 Minnesota Gophers. The Toms are 2-7-1 in CCHA play since then, but have been competitive in virtually every game. Take away the recent 7-1, 5-1 losses to No. 1-ranked Minnesota State, and the Tommies have been outscored just 27-17 in their last nine other CCHA games.

Radio/Stream

St. Thomas games air live on AM 1500 Skor North with Sam Ekstrom on play-by-play.

Bemidji State Talk

Bemidji State is 5-10 on home ice and 9-8 on the road. The Beavers are coming off two losses at Minnesota State, by identical 5-1 scores. They recently split two games at Northern Michigan, and took two losses against Michigan Tech. Senior forward, Owen Silinger currently leads BSU in points with 37 (13g-24a) in 32 games.
