Men's Hockey drops 2-1 exhibition game at UMD

Duluth, Minn. -- Minnesota-Duluth scored the tying and go-ahead goal in the second period in Saturday's 2-1 win over St. Thomas in a non-conference exhibition game.
Matthew Jennings scored a second-period goal for a 1-0 Tommie lead, assisted by Luke Manning and Luc Laylln.
The Bulldogs, who outshot the Purple 25-15, were coming off two early December home losses in overtime to No. 1-ranked Denver.
Aaron Trotter stopped 15 of 17 shots for the Toms in 40 minutes. Ethan Roberts played the final 20 minutes and stopped all eight shots.
This was the first meeting on the ice between these men's programs in 60 seasons.
Stats and win/loss results don't count in exhibition games.
Next Up
The Toms are off competition next weekend and play Jan. 13-14 in CCHA action at Michigan Tech.
