Late goals sink Men's Hockey on road in 3-2 loss

Bowling Green, Ohio -- Despite more progress, Tommie Men's Hockey came up short again on Saturday night. For the second night in a row, it was a 3-2 defeat to host Bowling Green in CCHA action.
The Falcons (5-7 overall, 4-4 CCHA) scored the tying goal with 5:13 left in regulation time. With overtime looming, Bowling Green got what proved to be the game-winning score with 17 seconds to go.
St. Thomas (2-10, 1-5) has five one-goal defeats, all on the road, and six losses to top-15 ranked teams. The Toms have allowed three or less goals seven times this season but have won just two of those contests.
Two freshmen scored for the Purple: Cooper Gay recorded his third goal in his last four games, and Brady Simmons-Fischer scored his first collegiate goal. Freshman Aaron Trotter stopped 29 of 32 shots.
St. Thomas was outshot by a 32-25 margin.
Next Up
St. Thomas returns home to play Michigan Tech on Friday and Saturday Nov. 18-19. The puck drops are 7:07 p.m., and 6:07 p.m., at Saint Thomas Ice Arena.
